A Fish Adventure

This brief asked to make a short narrative publication, that told a story without using words or icons.

For this story I was inspired by observational drawings I made on a trip to Portugal that involved visits to an aquarium and to old castles, which developed into a story about a curious fish exploring underwater castles. I used the drawings to explore different artstyles and analogue mediums, and used this exploration to help me establish the visual style of my publication.

The final outcome was made digitally using a mix of pencil-drawn style and a more graphic background which’s pattern I used to guide the reader’s eyes. Most of the double spreads combined into a full image for immersion. I limited my colour palette for vibrant eye-catching visuals.
