From Words to Image

I was raised in a mixed Portuguese-Brazilian background and lived in Rio de Janeiro before moving to London to pursue higher education. Since then I have completed a Foundation Diploma in Art & Design at Central Saint Martins, and am now pursuing a BA (Hons) in Illustration and Visual Media at the London College of Communication.

Besides art, I have a big passion for books and literature, from where a lot of my inspiration comes from. Before starting to draw, my process asks me to read, study and reflect on the subject, before my sketches start taking more shape. This makes my sketchbook have more words and mind-maps than anything else! And this is why “From Words to Image” sums up my practice.
